City of Bellaire please put a limit on the size of houses being built. A lot of these new houses are taking up most of their backyards and leaving neighbors feeling claustrophobic. It doesn't even seem to matter what size the lot is anymore. If it's a bigger lot then the house is just built even bigger. It's getting ridiculous!!
Totally agree! We have a house behind us that is so close to our fence and it's built up so high I can see the neighbors heads when they are on their porch. The city really doesn't care what they are doing to the neighborhoods.
Agreed. The house next door is so close I can hear the wife slamming kitchen cabinets. Her husband regularly cruises the side of their house - just five feet from the property line -- where he can see into our windows. How do we get Bellaire to change their policy? The Planning and Zoning Committee? But will Bellaire change when it's the tax dollars they crave from the McMansions? The 55% coverage policy also contributes to flooding for all of us. We're lucky they don't let builders bring in fill dirt any more.
I think there is a a Building’s and Standards committee. Would that be the one to contact?

Who cares about neighbors privacy as long as that money is coming in to City Hall.
