The City of Bellaire announces that Fire Chief Deacon Tittel will be retiring from the Bellaire Fire Department, after 25 years of dedicated service, to assume the role of Fire Chief at Harris County Emergency Services District (ESD) 48 Fire Department.

Chief Tittel’s career is a remarkable example of dedication and leadership in public service. Beginning as a volunteer firefighter, he rose through the ranks — serving as Firefighter, Captain, Commander, and ultimately Fire Chief. His journey reflects a deep commitment to the Bellaire community and a passion for public safety.

Throughout his tenure, Chief Tittel has led the department with integrity, vision, and a hands-on leadership style. Under his guidance, the Bellaire Fire Department has strengthened its operations, invested in modern equipment and training, and continued to deliver exceptional emergency services to residents and businesses alike.

“Chief Tittel’s leadership has left a lasting impact on our community, and we are grateful for his years of service,” said Mayor Pappas. “He leaves with my deep appreciation for a job well done and my best wishes for his continued success and happiness.”

Chief Tittel states, “It has been a privilege and an honor to serve the City of Bellaire for 25 years. The decision to leave has not been an easy one, as my time here has been both personally meaningful and professionally rewarding. I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to the City of Bellaire, and the steadfast support of the Bellaire Fire Department throughout my tenure. The city, staff, and the community will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Chief Tittel’s final day with the City of Bellaire will be October 24, 2025. The City extends its heartfelt congratulations to Chief Tittel and wishes him continued success as he brings his leadership and experience to a new community.
