PATRONS for Bellaire Parks will be hosting their annual Wine and Tapas Gala on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 7 PM in the evening. After having to pause this event the last two years, due to Covid, we are excited to be able to celebrate this annual event and renew our alliances in the community. We would be honored for you to join us for good wine, tapas and entertainment under the moonlight at Bellaire Town Square. This year’s Wine & Tapas’ theme is “Wine and Tapas Goes International”, showcasing the International flavor and diverse cultural heritage of our Bellaire citizens.
In tribute of the Bellaire Library’s 70th Anniversary, we are delighted to have as our Honoree this evening, our treasured librarian, Mary Cohrs. Mary has held the position of Library Director since 1995 and has provided our community with wonderful programing and outstanding service to all ages of reading enthusiast. She has long been a dedicated and friendly face in the Bellaire community.
Wine and Tapas serves as PATRONS largest annual fundraiser with net proceeds from the gala to be dedicated to future improvements to Bellaire parks and community green spaces.Putting your contributions to work, PATRONS recently donated $70,000 for the development of new outdoor greenspace in the adjacent lot to the library, that will extend library services to residents and library customers. PATRONS also has donated $110,000 to the City of Bellaire for the purchase and installation of innovative playground equipment that is inclusive of limited ability children at six parks: Lafayette Park, Mulberry Park, Officer Lucy Dog Park, Feld Park, Evergreen Park, and Loftin Park. PATRONS has raised over $2 million for the benefit of local parks and facilities for purchase of park equipment in Bellaire’s 14 area parks. These significant donations go directly into Bellaire parks and are only made possible through generous support by involved businesses and families.
