The Mayor issued the following proclamations:
- The month of May 2025 is Older Americans Month in Bellaire
- May 4-10, 2025, is Public Service Recognition Week in Bellaire
- May 11-17, 2025, is Police Week in Bellaire
A Public Hearing was held regarding a petition for the installation of speed humps on the 5400 block of Braeburn Drive.
The Fiscal Year 2025 Second Quarter Report was presented.
A waiver was granted, allowing the Bellaire Business Association to have alcohol in Bellaire-Zindler Park for the Foodie Fest 2025.
An agreement was authorized with HDR Engineering to update the City’s geographic information systems (GIS) data.
The council authorized the City Manager to purchase a replacement patrol car that was recently totaled.
A presentation was made about the Comprehensive Plan amendments to Chapter 24, Planning and Zoning, Articles II-VII, and Article XI. No action was taken, and this item will be brought back to the council.
Also of note was discussion about a private meeting with METRO and the conversations around moving the Bellaire Transit Center to the West into Houston.
