UPDATE: 7/1 3:53 pm

From the City of Bellaire:

Thank you for your patience with the water main break along 610.  Specialized contractors are on-site with City personnel, and we hope to make the repair today and fully restore water service to all residents soon thereafter.  At this time we do not anticipate any additional interruptions in service or further declines in water pressure.  Additionally, the water that is available to you at this time is safe for consumption.  Should this change we will provide further information.

Pressure loss has been noted along the following streets and there may be more.  We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and we thank you again for your patience.

  • 4700 Wedgewood

Are the repairs completed? If not, will the water be shut off again? If so, will residents be notified before it happens?

Thank you.

The repairs are not finished. Here is the latest from the city:

The emergency water main repair that began last night is worse than initially anticipated. Public Works crews have done their best to restore water pressure until the permanent fix can be completed. The 610 feeder road is closed between Fournace Place and Elm Street. Please bear with us during this period. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact Bellaire Public Works at (713) 662-8150 during regular business hours or the Bellaire Police Department at (713) 668-0487 during non-business hours.
