When seconds matter, partnerships matter.

Today, Bellaire Police officers were the first to arrive on scene and immediately began assisting in what quickly became a complex, multi-agency investigation following an attempted armored truck robbery that resulted in two suspects being shot by an armored truck security guard after the guard was reportedly sprayed with bear spray.

The investigation quickly expanded beyond the initial scene, with law enforcement tracking the suspects’ getaway vehicle and ultimately taking multiple individuals into custody. This successful outcome was the result of exceptional collaboration between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, demonstrating the value of strong partnerships and seamless communication.

This incident also serves as an important reminder of just how close violent crime can occur to our community. The attempted robbery happened just outside the City of Bellaire, reinforcing why our officers train, respond, and work so closely with our regional law enforcement partners every day.

Bellaire Police remains committed to protecting our community through proactive policing and strong partnerships. Today’s response is another example of how collaborative law enforcement efforts lead to successful outcomes and help keep our region safe.
