From the Bellaire Police Department:
On June 27, 2026, Bellaire Police Officers conducting an investigation into recent burglaries involving lawn care and construction vehicles observed a black Mercedes (suspect vehicle in other burglaries) stop in the middle of a residential street while the driver approached a work-type vehicle. The driver then returned to his vehicle and left the area without committing a burglary.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on black Mercedes and discovered numerous tools and equipment in the rear cargo area, including chainsaws, backpack blowers, hand tools, and multiple drills. Some of the recovered property includes Red Max and Stihl brand equipment. The driver and the passenger were both arrested for class "c" violations.
If you know of any lawn care or construction crews that have recently had tools or equipment stolen from their vehicles, please contact the Bellaire Police Department to assist with identifying the recovered property.
