From the City of West University:

In 2017, about 1 in 7 Texas high school students took opioids without a prescription or differently than how they were prescribed.

Among U.S. youth ages 12 to 17, nearly 60% report that the source of their most recent misuse of prescription pain relievers was a friend or relative.

Walgreens at 5280 Buffalo Speedway is one nearby location where you can drop off unused or expired edications (never flush them!)

What’s accepted: prescriptions, prescription and over the counter ointments and creams, aerosol cans, inhalers, liquids, lotions, pet medications, and vitamins. What’s not accepted: hydrogen peroxide, illicit drugs, needles, and thermometers.
