Bellaire City Council approved the following measures:

  • Authorized an agreement with Impact Promotional Services not exceeding $70,000.00 to purchase uniforms for Fire and Police Department personnel.
  • Appointed thirteen members to the Youth Advisory Board.
  • Accepted a Hazard Mitigation Grant Program sub-grant award from the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and approved executing a Subrecipient Agreement for TDEM-Administered Grant Awards for the Renwick Drive Waterwell Generator Project.
  • Amended certain revenues and appropriations in the Capital Grant Fund, the Capital Improvement Fund, and the Enterprise Fund in the FY2025 budget.
  • Approved Work Order #3 with HDR Engineering, Inc., for wastewater facilities engineering and support related to the Bellaire lift station, not exceeding $62,000.00.
  • Approved a Work Order #4 with HDR Engineering, Inc., for wastewater facilities engineering and support related to the connection with the City of Houston Southwest Wastewater Treatment Plant, not exceeding $83,700.00.
  • Adopted a resolution declaring official intent to reimburse expenditures from proceeds of tax-exempt bonds, permitting the City to begin paying for the City’s wastewater projects, specifically Work Orders 3 and 4, with funds on hand now, then reimburse itself with proceeds from next year’s planned bond sale.
  • Amended Article V, Section 24-537, Urban village-downtown district (UV-D), Chapter 24, Planning and Zoning, of the City Code to implement changes in the recent Council-approved Comprehensive Plan.
  • Nominated a candidate to fill a vacancy on the Harris Central Appraisal District Board of Directors through December 31, 2027.
  • Amended the Proposed FY2026 Budget to include a ballistic glass upgrade for patrol vehicles and the reclassification of the Capital Projects Grants Manager position to Director of Capital Projects.
  • Held a closed meeting to discuss the annual evaluation of the City Manager and voted to increase the City Manager’s salary by 2% and the employer retirement contribution rate by 1%.
