From the City of Bellaire:

Today, Mayor Andrew S. Friedberg proactively issued a local disaster declaration as a precaution and to facilitate the procurement and deployment of necessary resources needed to respond to any impacts from Hurricane Laura.

City Offices are closed and will remain closed tomorrow. There will be no solid waste pick-up on Thursday, August 27.

Please bring in your recycling bins as soon as possible after pick-up and secure any items such as yard decorations, limbs, and brush that could fly away or block drains.

We encourage you to clear the roadways by 8 pm this evening and stay home for the duration of the storm.  Please park your vehicles in the driveway or garage.

As a reminder, the City of Bellaire has a no-wake ordinance that prohibits cars, boats, or other vehicles from traveling on a flooded street at a speed that creates a wake that is likely to increase flooding that will cause personal injury or damage to property.
