The City of Bellaire will begin construction the week of July 13, pending weather, on a project to replace aging and undersized water distribution mains. This work is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to improve system reliability, enhance water quality, and increase fire flow capacity for residents.
Construction will begin on South Rice Avenue between Jessamine Street and Pine Street, then progress onto the surrounding side streets as the project continues. Traffic may be impacted in the construction area, and drivers are encouraged to use caution and follow posted detours or traffic control measures. Residents may see signs, equipment, materials, and lane markings in preparation for construction.
All work will take place within the City’s right‑of‑way. Residents should be aware that driveway access may be temporarily affected during portions of the project.
